The stream gurgled peacefully as the dark grey tom slipped through the plants that grew on its bank. His tail twitched as he stared into the water silently. His blue eyes were full of emotions that confused him. He was loyal to Windclan, wasn't he? Or was he loyal to his love? Even if that love would break the Code and cause trouble bewtween clans? He needed to think, but that wasn't why he had come. He had come to see her. The thought of her made his pelt crawl with happiness. He closed his eyes and pressed his head into the soft river dirt. Maybe he shouldn't be here. If one of his clanmates caught him here, there would be many questions to be answered. Maybe he could wait for her and hunt at the same time. Wait...why was he waiting for her? She wasn't coming for him. She was loyal to her clan, not him. Maybe he could see her at least, gathering herbs. He opened his eyes and turned around. He slipped out of the plants into the open and felt the cool wind ruffle his fur. He sighed and let the scents waft into his nose. When he opened his eyes, he saw a small brown rabbit eating from a sprig of weeds a few foxlengths away. He dropped into a crouch and sped across the grass. His bellyfur brushed the grass as he closed in. The rabbit's eyes widened and it darted off. He moved along faster and continued closing in. Just before the rabbit darted into a hole, he lunged and trapped him beneath his claws. With a swift bite to the rabbit's neck, it was killed. He looked up and towards the border. He could still see the stream and the plants. He could still hear the soft gurgle of the river. He nodded to himself and began testing the air for the scent of more prey.

xx.if anyone cared and nobody criedxx.
Squirrelflight prodded along the ThunderClan and WindClan border. Her ears flicked in irritation, she was annoyed at Brambleclaw. Yes he was ThunderClans deputy, but he could be such a bossy furball sometimes.
The she-cat sighed, sometimes she wished that she was still an apprentice. Back in the old forest, with out anything to worry about. Never caring what happened to stupid warriors, just happy and hanging out with friends.
Oh StarClan, why did you have to let those stupid Twolegs destroy our some home? I miss it so much, I miss Frostfur and Speckletail...oh why?! Squirrelflight wanted to wail like a helpless kit, but that did not help any. But the scent of another cat wafted up to her nose.
She smelled WindClan and padded up to the two warriors on the border. "Greetings, Tornear, Crowfeather."

Well it's time honored tradition To get enough nutrition Stay alive until you die And that's the end of you
With Harepaw off doing normal activities, and him off the hook for any patrols. Tornear decided to wander the border, as age would let him know; the most interesting things happened when you were alone. Amusement flashed across his face, ever so briefly. He was on business, not messing around. Tornear was hunting and patrolling the border, he was loyal to his clan, but sometimes he just wanted to do things on his own. He never thought of leaving Windclan, that would be outrageous, but he did enjoy moments to himself. He would have to work some training into his day, Harepaw was fast approaching the day he would earn his name. Ah, but he wished it was Tallstar who would name his latest apprentice. Tornear had been deathly loyal to Tallstar, the elderly tom had just commanded respect. Of course, he was loyal to Onestar. But Tallstar's death had been so terrible, and Mudclaw had just caused more problems by fighting it. He raised his head as he neared the border, his jaw unhinged to scent for prey. Instead he caught scent of Crowfeather. 'Alone at the border, eh?' After the fiasco with Leafpool, Tornear still didn't quite trust his younger clan-mate.
He'd never run off with a Thunderclan she-cat, a medicine cat no less. Tornear hadn't been a perfect Windclanner, but running off? He narrowed his eyes suspiciously, did Crowfeather think Leafpool was coming back? The tom had a rabbit, but Tornear didn't buy it. He was a senior warrior, he'd been a warrior back in the old moor-land, a warrior way before Crowfeather's mother even considered having kits. "Hello, Crowfeather. Nice catch." He meowed, not intending to leave the black tom alone by the border. His green eyes flickered in surprise when a ginger she-cat from Thunderclan came up to them. Tornear recognized her as Firestar's daughter, and Leafpool's sister. He watched her carefully, turning any suspicious feelings onto Squirrelflight. "What do you want?" He growled, his tail twitched. Why would a Thunderclanner greet them? And why was she alone? Ah, well they were discussing Thunderclan. The cats who took in every cat and expected other clans to drop their borders. The gray tabby sneered in amusement at the she-cat, did she think they would greet her kindly?
He had never liked her, Tornear didn't really like cats from any clan but Windclan. And he was always first to jump to being hostile. He had enjoyed being one of the cats to turn away Bluestar and Firestar, when they were harboring Brokentail. If only they could do that now, for all the kittypets Thunderclan was welcoming in. "Don't you have more kittypets to train?" He growled, goading her on. Tornear wasn't in a good mood, and the appearance of his least favorite cat's sister, didn't help it. He looked at Crowfeather, what was the tom doing?

Squirrelflight's Post;
Squirrelflight sat down, on the ThunderClan border. Her one white paw was raised as she was licking it. She brought her bright pink tongue over the white fur many times. Her bright green eyes sparkled with amusement as she listened to Tornear's voice. "What do I want? Well, I would like I nice piece of fresh-kill, and maybe I could do with some sparrow." Her green gaze rested coldly on Tornear before she mewed, "And perhaps if the world could live in peace instead of constant hunger and pain."
Squirrelflight curled her ginger tail around her paws. But her fur bristled and she stood up on all four paws. "At least we train them into strong and loyal warriors, not some stupid skinny elders who seemed to have left their wits back in the old forest!" The she-cat noticed that she was now spitting and hissing, why had Tornears comment gotten to her so much? She tried to relax but she was too stubborn to just leave it at that. Jaypaw's Post:
Jaypaw walked in the forest. Familiar scents wafting up to his gray nose. But that was it. Only scents, no pale sunlight shining down in the forest. Only the empty darkness that Jaypaw had always seen since he was born. He sighed as he bit down into the stalks of some marigold. Leafpool wanted him to collect some herbs while she tided up the den. Why did he have to do all the work already? He had barley started his training, but Leafpool insted that he went out to collect herbs.
Leafpool had also scent him over to the WindClan border to collect some marigold, she said that was were they grew the best. Jaypaw was about to pick up some more leaves but he heard some growling and hisses. Slowly he walked over to the border, instintly he smelled his mother, Squirrelflight. He could feel anger coming off her in waves. Jaypaw also smelled the WindClan warrior, Tornear. He must of said something to set his mother off so he walked up to stand next to his mother, "Squirrelflight is everything alright?"

Crowfeather turned as he heard his clanmate's greeting. His heart sank. He couldn't see Leafpool now, oh well. "Hey, Tornear," he said, setting the rabbit down. He turned at the sound of a cat on the Thunderclan border. It was Squirrelflight. Leafpool's sister...He removed this thought from his head and nodded to her. Then Tornear began to be hostile towards the Thunderclan she-cat. "Tornear, cool it, please?" he whispered under his breath. Tornear was an older warrior then he was, but he wasn't really in the mood for a confrontation right now. He picked up his rabbit and buried it quickly, he didn't want it to attract foxes or other things if they were going to be here for a while. Squirrelflight shot back a few remarks and his fur bristled slightly. Ugh! he groaned inwardly They are soo immature! Just then another cat appeared from the Thunderclan side. It was the medicine cat apprentice, Leafpool's apprentice. He tried not to think about the cats' links to Leafpool. He sat down with a sigh. He wasn't going to leave them now, in case it did get out of hand.

And I pity the fools Who don't recognize the rules We cannot cheat the reapers reap And that is the end of that
He nodded in acknowledgement of Crowfeather's greeting. His green eyes fully focussed on Squirrelflight, contempt filling them. Tornear smirked at her words, his amusement meant to tip her over the edge. He was just itching to have a border skirmish. But the tabby wasn't stupid enough to attack first. He was hoping the mangy she-cat would start it, let out some frustration on her pelt. Her words really did amuse him, peace? The clans would always fight, it was what kept them separate. "You remind of another worthless Thunderclan cat, who thought he could cross any borders he wanted. If he just said he wanted peace." Tornear snarled, ignoring Crowfeather's warning. The black tom was younger and had to submit to him, for he was the senior warrior here. The gray tabby did have a few words that were not kind to Crowfeather. "What, you'd rather defend Thunderclan? Go back to camp." Tornear snapped, irritated at the younger tom. He didn't need Crowfeather making up to Squirrelflight.
His eyes were still locked onto Squirrelflight's. Just because he had been friendly in the old forest, did not mean he had to be nice in these new lands. Tornear snorted, was that the best insult she could use? "I still have my wits, but your clan is slowly unraveling. What good is a kittypet in a fight? With a kittypet for a leader, I guess I see where Thunderclan's loyalties lie. With the two-legs and kibble." He snarled, though his words were vicious, his fur stayed flat. Tornear wouldn't start this fight, not with Crowfeather watching. He had too much respect for himself to get caught attacking on a cat on her side of the border. Just when it couldn't get any worse, Jaypaw showed up. The prickly tom was Leafpool's apprentice. Why was every cat here somehow tied to Leafpool? His tail lashed quickly, side to side. He wanted Harepaw to come running after him, but his apprentice was busy and well-behaved. He remembered Crowfeather's apprentice life. It was like the tom had tried so desperately not to be loyal to Windclan. Tornear had never taken a mate. And he'd never even thought about taking a mate from other clans.
Tornear watched as Jaypaw said something to Squirrelflight, waiting for the cats to respond to him. As he had grown older, he had started to dislike the cats much more. Firestar didn't turn out to be the great leader Tornear and said he would be and now Thunderclan had all these kittypets. It was unnatural.

Squirrelflight's Post:
Squirrelflight flicked her tail to let her son know she had heard him. But then she remembered Jaypaw's blindness and just muttered, "It will be..." Squirrelflight wanted nothing more then to stick her claws into Tornears pelt. All she did was greet him, she never said anything rude until a few moments ago. She hardly heard Crowfeathers warning, and she bristled again when she heard Tornear tell him to go back to the camp. Tornear was acting like a stupid fur ball, but why?
She was hardly able to hold back, but her pride kept the better of her. She would not attack the tom while his was still on his side of the border, but if he set so much as a whisker over the border, oh Squirrelflight would rip him to shreds. Slowly Squirrelflight closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She had to relax, she just noticed that she had to dig her claws into the Earth to stop her from quivering with rage. The ginger she-cat let out a hiss as Tornear ranted about her father.
"Well Tornear, if the kittypet had not joined the forest, WindClan would have been ripped to shreds by BloodClan! So would all of the other Clans." Squirrelflight had not fought the battle herself, but she heard the tales of how Scourge had ripped Tigerstar's nine lives right out of him. But she heard of how Firestar had saved the forest from BloodClan and how he brought peace to the forest for many moons.
Then Bluestar came to Brambleclaw and told him about the destruction of the forest. Squirrelflight was just an apprentice then, but she went with Brambleclaw on the journey to Midnight. Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight from ThunderClan, Stormfur and Feathertail from RiverClan, Crowfeather from WindClan and Tawnypelt from ShadowClan. They had become close friends on the journey, but now they just seemed to be friends, not close or anything. Squirrelflight glared at Tornear, waiting for him to say something stupid.Jaypaw's Post:
Jaypaw heard his mother mutter the words. The tom sighed, if Tornear and Crowfeather decided to attack Jaypaw would not be much help. He would only be able to run as quick as he could back to the camp to get more warriors. But he felt Tornears pride coming off in waves. Tornear would let Squirrelflight attack first, but he knew Squirrelflight would not attack first either.
Jaypaw wondered how Crowfeather was doing. A sudden sense of pity washed over Jaypaw. What? Why should I care about Crowfeather.... But he knew that technically Crowfeather was his uncle because at one time Leafpool took him as a mate.
Jaypaw flattened his ears to his head. Who put ants in Tornear's pelt?

ooc: I have, haha Crowfeather's ears flattened against his head as he turned to face the older warrior. "No, I'm not defending Thunderclan, you stupid furball, and no I am not going back to camp!" his eyes flashed as he defied the older warrior. As Tornear continued on childishly insulting Squirrelflight, he hissed at him. "Stop it, Tornear," he said, "I don't care if you're older than me, this is stupid!" Crowfeather usually wasn't one to fight for peace, but it was Squirrelflight. Squirrelflight was Leafpool's sister. He glanced back to the Thunderclan border. Jaypaw seemed uneasy, and he rightly should be. Squirrelflight seemed like she was furious, but he had learned on the Great Journey that she did have a short temper and she was very stubborn. They could definately be here for a while. He looked towards the direction of the Windclan camp, begging a warrior older than Tornear to appear and settle the fued before Squirrelflight got hurt.

That is the end of that That is the end of that That is the end of that Ho ho ho ho...
The tabby tom watch the cats in disbelief. Had his own clanmate lost the will to fight? It was obvious he wouldn't get any back-up if this turned into a fight. His green eyes flashing with frustration, he would leave. But his pride wouldn't let him leave first. Well, silence was golden. But silence didn't bring results, claws did. "How would you know, kit? Windclan would have done just fine without the help of a kittypet. And in case your clan forgot. It was your warrior who betrayed the forest." Tornear was still sore from having to have help from Thunderclan, if only to survive. It was Tigerstar who had done so much damage. And Tigerstar was the spawn on Thunderclan, did all they do was turn out murderers? He reined himself in, turning to Crowfeather. His eyes were cold and infuriated. But he held back his words, not wanting to be seen arguing with another warrior from his own clan. The gray tabby snorted, he wouldn't leave until Squirrelflight and her blind son left the border. Who could trust cats who didn't know when to stop crossing borders?
Tornear didn't have to dig his claws into the soil to stop from racking her face. His moons and moons of being warrior had taught him patience, at least when it came to actions. The tom lifted his chin, haughtily. It would be good if Onestar came by, they needed a cat to stop this. He wasn't going to go much further with it. Finally, he decided to give it up. "Crowfeather, grab your rabbit. Lets go back to camp. Unless you want to stay and chat with your Thunderclan friends?" He growled, making it hard for the other tom to not go. Tornear would get Onestar or Ashfoot to send Crowfeather on an actual hunting patrol. Though he didn't particularly want to talk with the tom's mother. He respected her, but his views on her son didn't exactly make them best friends. Ah, Tornear knew exactly why he wasn't deputy. But he wasn't power-hungry enough to be jealous. He didn't wait for Crowfeather's response and began to trot along the border. Tornear wasn't ready to leave the border just yet.

Crowfeather snarled at the senior warrior, his dark grey pelt bristling slightly. "Tornear!" he hissed, "It's not worth it!" He tried to think of a way to make the senior warrior leave the border when Tornear said they were leaving. Finally! Crowfeather nodded shortly and grabbed his rabbit from the ground. Then, Tornear began to move along the border. "Tornear! Wrong way!" he yelled at the tom. He knew that the warrior was going along the border on purpose. "Come on!" he groaned, shifting his weight. "We can send a border patrol when we get back to camp." He flicked his tail impatiently. Why was the stupid furball so eager to fight? True, he was normally a stand-offish cat, but he didn't want to hurt Leafpool's sister or nephew. "Come on!" he repeated.

Squirrelflights Post:
Squirrelflight could not help but smile a bit when she saw Tornear was leaving. She knew she did nothing to change his mind, but at least no blood was shed. The ginger she-cat looked down at Jaypaw, he looked pleased to be able to leave and when she looked back at Crowfeather she mouthed, "I'll tell Leafpool that your doing fine." She hoped Tornear had not caught that, he would be very unhappy about Crowfeather. His entire Clan must still not trust him. Squirrelflight felt stabs of pity for him and hoped that he was really doing okay. She shook her head and looked back at Tornear. "Don't think we won't tell Firestar about this! I'm sure he'll say something about this at the Gathering!" With out waiting for a reply Squirrelflight turned and walked away and knew that Jaypaw would fallow her.
Jaypaw's Post:
Jaypaw could not help but breathe out a sigh of relive when he heard Tornear begin to walk away. 'Wait! He's walking along the border!' He braced himself, waiting for claws to strike and cats hissing but it never came. Instead Squirrelflight hissed a warning and Jaypaw suddenly felt uneasy. He wanted no trouble with WindClan, he just wanted ThunderClan to be left in peace for now. He sighed again and bounded after his mother.
-To... Uh I don't no, back to the ThunderClan camp-
